Medires conferences bring together people from many countries, disciplines and career stages. Everyone taking part — delegates, speakers, sponsors, volunteers and staff — is expected to help keep the event respectful, safe and professional, onsite and online.
Expected behaviour
- Treat other participants with courtesy and respect, in sessions, in discussion and on social media.
- Engage critically with ideas, not with people. Scientific disagreement is welcome; personal attacks are not.
- Respect session times, chairs' instructions and the venue's rules.
- Ask presenters for permission before photographing, recording or sharing their slides or posters.
Unacceptable behaviour
- Harassment, intimidation or discrimination of any kind, including on the basis of gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, age or nationality.
- Unwelcome physical contact, sexual attention or offensive comments.
- Disrupting talks, sessions or online streams.
- Plagiarism, fabricated data or misrepresenting another person's work.
